Quran, the Divine Gift for the Mankind
We, the common people, are used to get the steering through user-guides, manuals and other helping material provided to us with different machines, electrical appliances etc. Same is the case with the travelers, who get small brochures and things-to-do type supportive materials before they set off for the journey to make their trip safest and more fruitful and turn it into an unforgettable experience. This small example can be used to describe the relation between Allah SWT, mankind and the Holy Quran. Allah sent the human beings on this earth for a small trip, merely a second of the life after death, and bestowed him with the Quran. A precious things-to-do and not-to-do guide for their journey on earth and the divine manifesto which will decide the ultimate destiny of every single human being in the light of his deeds. Those who will follow the right path defined in the Holy Book will enjoy never-ending pleasures in Jannah and the heresy will see with their eyes what they had rejected on earth, His justice.
The Holy Quran itself puts light on the importance of reciting, understanding and following the path defined in this divine message from Allah to His Apostle Muhammad (P.B.U.H). Following are the few randomly selected verses which prove that this is the real guide for the all mankind:
In Chapter 17, Verse 9 & 10 Allah mentions: "Indeed, this Quran leads on to an appropriate and secure path. It gives the good news to those who perform righteous deeds, that theirs is a great reward! And We have prepared a painful punishment for those who do not believe in the afterlife". In Chapter 41 Verse 41 & 42 He says, "These people have refused to accept the advice, (the Qur’an), when it came to them, (though) it is definitely a mighty book! Falsehood can neither confront it head on, nor approach it (stealthily) from behind. (It is) a revelation from the Wise, the One Worthy of praise". In Chapter 54 Verse 17, Allah S.W.T points out the easiness of learning and understanding this Holy Book in these words, "And we have made the Quran easy for admonition. Is there then any seeker of admonition?" Hadith (sayings of the last Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H) also put stress on the importance of reciting and understanding the Holy Book through exegesis (Tafseer). "The example of him (a believer) who recites the Quran is like that of a citron which tastes good and smells good. And he (a believer) who does not recite the Quran is like a date which is good in taste but has no smell. And the example of a dissolute wicked person who recites the Quran is like the Raihana (sweet basil) which smells good but tastes bitter. And the example of a dissolute wicked person who does not recite the Quran is like the colocynth which tastes bitter and has no smell" (Narrated by Abu Musa Al-ash’ari, Sahih Bukhari, Volume 6 Book 61, Number 538)
Keeping in view the importance of reciting, reading the translation and understanding the message through exegesis of the Quran, Ulemas are making great effort to spread the message of Allah S.W.T. With changing needs and trends of each era, the methods used for this purpose are also kept changing. In this modern era, the advancement in technology is also supporting this cause. Several softwares are designed for this purpose and Quran Reference is the latest one in this series of softwares, a relatively new but a comprehensive tool for recitation, translation and exegesis.
Quran Reference, a Comprehensive Guide at Just One Click
The software serves at two different levels, which can be defined as:
Artistic expression. Understanding the meaning and learning the tajweed rules.
Islamic Art is the art of civilization based on Islamic religion. Moreover, it not only concerned with particular region or particular people rather it is a combination of different civilizations and historical circumstances as painted with Islamic weltanschauung. The Arab civilization is probably more important. Although the Arabs have little art and even then, they developed Islamic art with spiritual characteristics.
While many religions have made use of figural images to convey their core convictions, Islam has instead used the shapes and sizes of words or letters. In Islam figural arts is seen as a possible implication of idolatry, and therefore early Muslims looked to the artistry of calligraphy for religious expression. In Islamic and Arabic cultures, calligraphy became highly respected as an art - the art of writing. In short it can be said that the calligraphy is one of the basic columns of the building of Islamic culture, which also fulfill the artistic needs of the common man and Quran Reference has been designed while keeping in view these points.
Apart from the artistic needs, Quran Reference also offers the commonly used two scripts for reciting the Holy Quran, which are Uthmani and Indo-Pak scripts. Remember that Indo-Pak script is easier to read for non-Arabs while Uthmani script is used mostly in the Arab world. So this software can be referred to anyone who wants to learn and understand the Quran, all around the world. The colors used as the background are soothing and their soft tone does not bother and allows the reader to keep the navigation as long as he/she wants to continue.
